Getting started
1. Log into your Confluence instance.
2. Click the Apps dropdown and choose Find new apps.
3. Search for TextUnited translation integration for Confluence and click on the app tile.
4. Click Learn more to get redirected to TextUnited service.
5. To start a free trial create a user account in TextUnited. Continue the integration from there.
6. Next highlight buttons that specify your preferences and click SIGN UP.
7. Now you are logged in. Click Start a new project and then Confluence integration icon.
If you need our guidance, click on Walk me through to arrange a meeting with TextUnited’s Customer Success Team.
8. Authorize the connection to the Confluence site. If you have more than one site, choose the appropriate one. You are all set.
9. Enter a project name.
10. Choose content
Select source space from your Confluence spaces displayed in a dropdown list. Decide if you want to translate All pages or Only specific pages. After ticking the latter option your Confluence pages will be listed. Select articles to be translated and click CONTINUE.
11. Choose languages
Select source and target languages. Then choose a destination space by clicking the dropdown list which displays all your Confluence spaces. Click CONTINUE.
Hint!
It is worth creating the destination spaces in advance for the translated versions of the site. Your original documentation will be translated and saved there.
12. Choose who translate
Select ME & MY TEAM if you want to handle the project by yourself. Click PROFESSIONAL FULL SERVICE if you want the translation to be managed by TextUnited (this is a paid service).
For ME & MY TEAM you have two more options. You may pre-translate the content with automatic translation and review it by yourself or the other person of your team or a freelance translator. The automatic translation will reuse translations from your other projects as well.
If you want to reuse only human translations, select ME & MY TEAM, then Pre-translate using translation memory and leave the other fields as they are. Click CONTINUE.
13. Click CREATE A PROJECT.
14. The project is being created. After a while you will see it on the list of the projects. Click the project name to show its details.
15. To review the translations click WORK ON THE PROJECT.
16. The list of all articles within the selected space is displayed. Navigate to the article which translations you want to modify and click Translate.
17. The translation editor is shown. Now you may edit the translated content.
18. Once the translation is ready, go to project details (click the name of the project on the project list). Click SYNC BACK to send the translated content back to Confluence.
19. After a while (depending on the size of your spaces) the translation will appear in the previously indicated Confluence space (the one provided for the target language).
